NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg is likely to remain in his position for one more year, four NATO diplomats have told EURACTIV, Report informs via Euractiv.
He is likely to see his mandate extended this Wednesday (28 June), Euractiv understands.
NATO diplomats inside the alliance point to Stoltenberg’s proven ability to handle the military alliance through the crises.
The extension gives the Western military alliance more time to focus on its short-to-long-term support to Ukraine, instead of having to dive into a personality debate, the NATO diplomats said.
