N.Korea threatens US, S.Korea with nuclear weapons in response to 'military provocations'

North Korea considers US and South Korean military exercises provocations and warns Washington and Seoul that they are dealing with a nuclear state, Report informs, citing the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the state news agency of North Korea.

"The United States and its satellites need to remember that the state they are dealing with has real nuclear strike capabilities, and our people and army do not talk empty words," the commentary says. It notes that it is clear how Pyongyang's nuclear weapons will be used if "war deterrence forces do not affect" the US and its allies.

The DPRK condemned both the joint US-South Korean military exercises that took place in March, as well as the planned exercises of these countries with the involvement of Japan.

The United States, Japan and South Korea are expected to conduct joint exercises in the Sea of Japan shortly with the participation of the American nuclear aircraft carrier Nimitz. According to the sources of Yonhap Agency, they will be held next week. The maneuvers are being carried out against the backdrop of increased North Korean missile launches.
