Merkel: EU defence policy should not be alternative to NATO

Baku. 18 February. REPORT.AZ/ European defence policy should not constitute an alternative to NATO, but must complement the alliance.
Report informs referring to the RIA Novosti, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said.
"European defense policy must not be an alternative to NATO", said Merkel, speaking at the Munich security conference.
She added that it is "a complement to NATO”.
