Lithuania buying 8 MLRS HIMARS from US

Lithuania has signed an agreement with the US on the acquisition of eight multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) HIMARS, said Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas, who met with Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin in the US, Report informs referring to Interfax.
According to the agreement, Lithuania is purchasing eight HIMARS systems with various types of combat and training missiles, including ATACMS with a range of 300 kilometers. According to the Lithuanian minister, the first deliveries of American MLRS are scheduled for 2025. The preliminary cost of the contract is about $495 million.
At the same time, equipment will be purchased for the installation and maintenance of the HIMARS system, its integration into the NATO long-range missile defense network, as well as for personnel training.
