Japanes MFA: Russia occupied Northern Territories of Kuril Islands

The Northern Territories of the Kuril Islands are an inherent territory of Japan but are currently illegally occupied by Russia, Japanese MFA said in a Diplomatic Bluebook, Report informs.
According to the ministry, the Northern Territories issue is the greatest concern between Japan and Russia.
Earlier, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that the country's position over the Northern Territories will not change in the future.
