Israel rejects French help to fight fires

Firefighting aircraft from several countries are expected to arrive in Israel on May 1, Report informs referring to newsru.co.il.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry has notified France that assistance from this country is not required.

Earlier, Paris intended to send two Canadair CL-415 amphibious aircraft to Israel.

Assistance in extinguishing forest fires was agreed upon the day before. Cyprus is sending a Bell 412 helicopter to Israel, its arrival in Hatzor is expected around midday.

Canadair CL-415 amphibious aircraft are also expected to arrive from Croatia and Italy (two aircraft are likely to arrive – around midday and in the afternoon).
