According to the directive, the Israeli military is tasked with creating a "safe sector" in southern Syria, extending beyond the buffer zone. This sector must be free from strategic weapons and terrorist infrastructure that could pose a threat to Israel's security.

The minister's orders also include establishing contacts with Druze and other communities in southern Syria and immediately preventing any attempts to resume weapons smuggling from Iran to Lebanon through Syrian territory.
