Iraqi minister: Iranian tankers detained by US used fake documents

Iraqi oil tankers detained by the US in the Persian Gulf were operating with forged Iraqi documents, Iraq’s Oil Minister Hayan Abdel-Ghani said, Report informs via Kommersant.

"We have informed the US side that these documents are fake and that we have no relation to them," said the minister.

On March 20, the US Department of State announced the fourth round of sanctions aimed at the sale of Iranian oil. According to an official statement, the sanctions were imposed on one organization involved in purchasing Iranian oil, along with 19 legal entities and vessels.
