Iran has launched missiles and drones at US military bases in Bahrain in response to American strikes on targets inside the country, according to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as cited by the Mehr news agency.
In a statement, the IRGC said the attacks began after US forces struck military and civilian sites in southern Iran and allegedly violated the terms of a memorandum between the two countries.
"Since this morning, Iran's strike drones have been targeting the US base in Bahrain. All US bases in the region will become legitimate targets," the statement said.
According to media reports, air raid sirens have sounded in Bahrain for the third time in recent hours. The kingdom's Interior Ministry has again urged residents to move to the nearest safe locations.
