Guterres: We are far from negotiations between Zelenskyy, Putin

Russia and Ukraine are far from being able to create the conditions for peace, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said, Report informs citing RBC-Ukraine.
In his opinion, it is difficult to hold talks between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy under such conditions.
“I think it would be important to create conditions for achieving peace in accordance with the UN Charter, with international law, but if you think realistically, I think we are still far from this possibility and it will probably be difficult to have direct negotiations between the two presidents,” he said.
The UN secretary-general noted that he is ready to provide good service to facilitate negotiations, but their conduct depends on the desire of the parties.
