French, Russian FMs discusss situation around Ukraine

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, in a conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, expressed deep concern over the recent escalation in eastern Ukraine, Report informs citing the statement of the French Foreign Ministry, released today following a telephone conversation between Le Drian and Lavrov.
“The head of the French Foreign Ministry, participating in the Munich Security Conference, had a telephone conversation on February 19 with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. Le Drian expressed his deep concern over the escalation in eastern Ukraine in recent days.
Numerous violations of the ceasefire regime, ascertained by the OSCE mission, contradict the obligations taken during contacts in the Normandy format (Russia, France, Germany, Ukraine),” the French ministry said in a statement.
