French FM: New EU sanctions to target Russian energy sector

The next package of EU's anti-Russia sanctions will affect Russia's energy sector, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said on France Info TV, Report informs via TASS.
"[The 16th sanctions package] will mainly affect Russia's energy resources," he said.
According to him, the restrictive measures will also affect a number of "players in countries that facilitate the circumvention of sanctions."
Earlier, European Commission spokesperson Paula Pinho stated that imposing sanctions against Moscow in the energy sector aligns with Brussels' strategy to eliminate dependence on Russian resources.
