Finland and Israel have secretly signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in defense materials.
According to the Finnish public broadcaster Yle, the document provides for cooperation between the two countries in research, development and procurement of military equipment.
According to Yle, the protocol was originally drafted in 2013, and in early 2024 Finland proposed extending its validity. Under the new document, the term has been extended from five to ten years.
The agreement was approved in writing by the defense ministries of the two countries. In its response to Finland, Israel described relations between the two countries as a unique partnership based on shared values and common interests.
