EU hopes new Syrian government will reject Russian military bases

The European Union expressed hope that the new Syrian authorities will decide not to keep Russian military bases in the country, Report informs via TASS.
"We would be absolutely satisfied if the new authorities decided to remove Russian bases," a high-ranking EU representative told journalists in Brussels.
When journalists asked whether the EU intends to communicate its position to the new Syrian authorities, the diplomat answered affirmatively.
