The ports of all European Union countries have closed entry for Russian ships, Report informs, citing UNIAN.
"The EU directive on the ban on entry for Russians has come into force. It applies to all vessels registered under the Russian flag and those which changed the Russian registration after February 24," head of Ukraine's Presidential Office Andriy Yermak said.
He added that there are some exceptions, with the ban not to cover the vessels from which the mayday calls are received. The decision on them will be made individually.
"We will keep a close watch on how such exceptions are applied," he said.
Earlier, the ports of Bulgaria, Romania, and Italy banned the entry of Russian ships. Estonia joined the move later.
