COVID-19 tally tops 155k in Germany

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany increased by 1,018 to 155,193, data from the Robert Koch Institute for infectious diseases showed on Monday.
The death toll rose by 110 to 5,750, according to the tally.
Over 114,000 people have recovered from the infection.
Most cases are in Bavaria (41,070), North Rhine-Westphalia (31,879), and Baden-Württemberg (31,043).
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 210 countries and territories since then.
To date, COVID-19 cases surpassed 2,995,000 globally, resulting in more than 881,000 recoveries and over 207,000 deaths.
On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
