CENTCOM chief reportedly urges Israel to renew strikes on Iran

US Central Command (CENTCOM) chief Admiral Brad Cooper has reportedly urged Israel to resume military strikes against Iran, including attacks on key elements of the country's national infrastructure, Report informs via Israel's Channel 13.

According to the channel, Cooper made the remarks during a recent visit to Israel, where he attended a meeting of the Israel Defense Forces' senior operational forum alongside IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and other senior military officials.

Channel 13 said Cooper argued that renewed strikes on Iranian infrastructure, including oil, gas and electricity facilities, could significantly alter Tehran's calculations.

"Striking infrastructure in Iran will change the rules of the game and hurt the Iranians badly. In the current situation, they will not change their position," Cooper was quoted as saying by Channel 13.

The CENTCOM commander also reportedly told Israeli officials that the United States might have no alternative but to resume military operations against Iran.

Meanwhile, an Iranian source told Reuters that no negotiations are currently taking place over extending a ceasefire with the United States. The source said Tehran considers the truce effectively invalid because Washington allegedly violated it 48 hours after the agreement was reached.
