Bulgaria, US conduct international exercises ‘Thracian Summer 2023’

The military personnel of Bulgaria and the US take part in the joint air training ‘Thracian Summer 2023, Report informs referring to TASS.

The exercises are being held in Bulgaria and will last until August 20.

“During the exercises, tactical flights will be carried out at low altitude, flights of groups along the route at medium and low altitudes, transportation of troops and goods, training and combat parachute jumps day and night from low and medium altitudes, actions to neutralize terrorist groups, medical evacuation, etc. Air defense tasks will be completed,” the message says.

The exercise program provides for the implementation of flights on August 5 for the redeployment of personnel. US Air Force C-130 transport aircraft will be transferred to Bulgaria on August 7.

As part of the joint training, during the period from August 8 to 17, day and night flights of Spartan aircraft of the Bulgarian Air Force and C-130 of the US Air Force will be performed. The Thracian Summer 2023 exercises are being held in Bulgaria for the 15th year in a row.
