The Bulgarian authorities confirm the date of possible entry into the eurozone - January 1, 2025, Bulgarian Finance Minister Asen Vasilev said following a meeting with his Greek counterpart Stavros Papastavrou, Report informs referring to TASS.
“Greece supports Bulgaria’s full membership in Schengen, which means the full opening of land borders and ease of traffic, as well as our membership in the eurozone, which is expected from January 1 next year,” Vasilev noted.
In November 2023, the Bulgarian government adopted changes to the work of the Coordination Council for the preparation of Bulgaria for membership in the eurozone, it was tasked with continuing practical preparations for the transition to the euro from the beginning of 2025.
