Borrell: EU can create fund for Ukraine to develop drones and AI

The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, will propose that the bloc’s member countries create a fund to help Ukraine develop drones and artificial intelligence, Report informs referring to RBC-Ukraine.

The head of the EU diplomacy added that thanks to drones, everything is now visible on the front line.

At the same time, he noted that it is now necessary to develop technologies based on a different type of warfare.

The EU Council and the European Parliament reached a preliminary agreement on February 5 on the creation of a new instrument to support the recovery, reconstruction and modernization of Ukraine, the Ukraine Facility.

The document must be approved by the European Parliament at the plenary session, which is scheduled for February 26-29, 2024.
