Biden declares state of emergency in California due to storm

US President Joe Biden has declared a state of emergency in California due to the ongoing storm.
According to Report, the White House said Biden also 'ordered Federal assistance to supplement State, tribal, and local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from successive and severe winter storms, flooding, and mudslides beginning on January 8, 2023, and continuing.'
Biden’s action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to coordinate all disaster relief efforts, and to provide appropriate assistance 'to save lives and to protect property.'
