Belarus presidential election deemed valid as 56.64% of voters cast their ballot

Voter turnout in Belarus' presidential election was 56.64% as of 12:00, Deputy Chairman of the CEC Aleksei Bashan said at the CEC Information Center, BelTA has learned, Report informs.
The regional breakdown is the following: Brest Oblast – 61.34%, Vitebsk Oblast – 54.40%, Gomel Oblast – 62.84%, Grodno Oblast – 54.96%, Minsk Oblast – 54.27%, Mogilev Oblast – 58.71%, Minsk – 51.29%.
In line with the law of the Republic of Belarus, the election is deemed valid if more than half of eligible registered voters take part in the voting.
