Afghan embassy in India suspends operations

The Afghan Embassy in India has suspended operations after the ambassador and diplomatic mission staff left for Europe and the US, where they received political asylum, according to the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Report informs referring to TASS.
Embassy sources said at least five employees had left the diplomatic mission. The Government of India will be in charge of the embassy building temporarily. A representative of the Indian Foreign Ministry emphasized in a conversation with the publication that the authorities are monitoring developments, but didn’t provide details.
Earlier, PTI, citing sources in the Indian government, reported that the Afghan diplomatic mission in the Indian capital had notified its closure in the next few days.
