Samil Ayrim: Türkiye's 50-year terror scourge ended with PKK's dissolution

The PKK terrorist organization's declaration of disbandment has brought an end to the terror scourge that Türkiye has been fighting for nearly 50 years, Turkish MP Samil Ayrim, head of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group, Report informs.

Ayrim expressed his belief that Türkiye and Azerbaijan will continue to strengthen together in the region.

Chairman of the Milli Majlis' Health Committee, Head of the Working Group on Interparliamentary Relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Ahliman Amiraslanov, said that thanks to the leadership and friendly personal relations of President Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the ties between the two countries are successfully developing and strengthening in various fields. He drew attention to the fact that Türkiye is currently experiencing a wonderful period in its history. The declaration of the PKK terrorist organization's disbandment and Türkiye's growing influence in world politics are important achievements, and Türkiye's success also make Azerbaijan happy.

Speaking about the mutual cooperation of the Turkic states, Ahliman Amiraslanov hailed the activities of the newly established working group on interparliamentary relations with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in the Milli Majlis, and especially emphasized the importance of the Organization of Turkic States in this area.

At the meeting, other MPs from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and the TRNC shared their views on relations between the Turkic states. The guests spoke with satisfaction about the meeting they had at ADA University and their acquaintance with the university within the framework of this visit to Azerbaijan, and noted the importance of cooperation in the field of education and mutual student exchange.
