Milli Majlis approves reappointment of Kamran Aliyev as Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan

The Milli Majlis (Parliament) has approved the reappointment of Kamran Aliyev as Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan.
According to Report, the corresponding draft resolution was discussed during today’s parliamentary plenary session.
In accordance with the Constitution of Azerbaijan, the Milli Majlis gives its consent to the appointment and dismissal of the Prosecutor General based on a proposal by the President.
The draft resolution was put to a vote and adopted in a single reading.
Kamran Aliyev was originally appointed Prosecutor General by a presidential decree dated May 1, 2020. His term was set to expire today.
