Azerbaijani MP: Increase in number of drug addicts causes concern

Chairperson of the Azerbaijani Parliamentary Committee on Family, Women and Children’s Affairs Hijran Huseynova has expressed concern about the growing number of drug addicts, including among women and minors, Report informs.

The growing number of drug addicts among young people and adolescents is particularly concerning, she said at today’s plenary session of parliament.

“We all know that drugs destroy families and cause an increase in intra-family conflicts and domestic violence,” she said.

She in particular noted the need to improve legislation in this matter.
