Azerbaijan, Morocco discuss interparliamentary cooperation

Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Mohamed Ghayate, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco, who is attending the 20th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States in Azerbaijan.

The Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis told Report that satisfaction was expressed at the current level of relations between Azerbaijan and Morocco. It was noted that bilateral ties based on mutual respect are developing successfully, particularly in the political sphere. The sides emphasized the importance of cooperation and mutual support within international organizations.

During the conversation, it was noted that interparliamentary cooperation plays an important role in deepening relations between the two countries. Gafarova recalled with satisfaction her official visit to Morocco and her meetings with Moroccan colleagues as part of various international events, saying these contacts had contributed to the development of ties.

The meeting emphasized that the friendship groups operating in the parliaments of both countries and the interparliamentary memorandum of understanding signed this year create favorable opportunities for expanding cooperation.

The sides expressed satisfaction with cooperation between the parliaments within international parliamentary organizations, including the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement. It was noted that Morocco actively participates in the organization's activities and attaches special importance to its work.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
