"The city of Mariupol in Ukraine’s Donetsk region has been under complete blockade since March 1 2022. However, the city is under the control of the Ukrainian armed forces. There are street fights. Mariupol is Ukraine," Pavel Kirilenko, head of the Donetsk regional administration, told Report's Eastern European bureau.
"Regardless of what the enemy is saying or spreading 'fake' information, the city of Mariupol has not been handed over to the enemy. Unfortunately, according to estimates, tens of thousands of civilians were killed as a result of the Russian genocide in Mariupol," Kirilenko added.
