Azerbaijani border guard wounded in shelling from Armenian territory

A violation of the state border of Azerbaijan by two persons from the village of Nerkin Khndzoresk in Armenia was recorded at around 03.20 p.m. in the Jijimli settlement on the service territory of the border combat point of the separate border division "Gubadli" of the State Border Service (SBS).

The two drove approximately 200 heads of livestock some 300 meters deep into the territory of Azerbaijan.

Report informs citing the press center of the State Border Service that after the border post tried to prevent the penetration, it was shelled from a combat post of the Armenian Armed Forces, as a result of which senior lieutenant Rovshan Mammadov was wounded.

The serviceman was immediately evacuated to a medical facility.

"Currently, the operational situation is stable and is under the control of our units. Responsibility for yet another provocation by the Armenian side falls entirely on the military-political leadership of Armenia," the service said.
