Political scientist: Attack on Azerbaijani journalists in Paris - infringement on freedom of speech

It is very sad and regrettable that the world doesn’t speak out about the incident that occurred with Azerbaijani journalists in France, doesn’t condemn it, although this is a real encroachment on the freedom of speech, Mauricio Tafoya, a Mexican political scientist, president of the Young Diplomats organization, former technical secretary of the Congress of Mexico, told Report when commenting on the recent attack on an AZTV film crew in Paris.

“This fact is considered an attack against freedom of expression and against journalists.

I consider it a suppression of freedom of expression, since due to the events that France is experiencing lately, they do not want everything that is happening in France to go beyond its borders and the world to find out about the oppression against its people, and that is why they are doing these actions to silence the media,” he noted.

“Today many must understand that the right to freedom of expression should not be violated, especially regarding journalists because they are the means of communication to understand what happens every minute in the world,” he added.

The political scientist believes that France allegedly officially supports freedom of speech, is considered a free democracy, but in reality, it demonstrates a violation of fundamental freedoms and oppression of journalists.

AZTV employees were attacked during filming in the suburbs of Paris. As a result, the correspondent and the operator of the TV channel received minor injuries.
