Fahrettin Altun: We must fight together against slander against Turkic world

"We must fight together against the slander against the Turkic world," Turkish Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said during his speech in video format at the forum on 'Turkic world new generation media activities' held in Bursa.

"New electronic media and information technologies have not only accelerated our communications but also revealed disinformation and smear campaigns. The Turkic world suffered even more," he said.

Emphasizing the importance of expanding joint activities of the Turkic world in order to combat these threats, Fahrettin Altun said that the meeting of the ministers responsible for the media activities of the Organizations of Turkic States (OTS) and relevant media leaders in Istanbul in May of this year also served this purpose, and today's event is a continuation of such countermeasures.

Altun said that he believes that the upcoming obstacles will be overcome by sharing experiences and joint activities of the Turkic world in this direction:

"I highly value the Turkic world new generation media forum in this context. As President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized, we need to unite more closely for the same goals and build common platforms by acting together with the Turkic states. Turkiye is ready to fully support the Turkish world against global disinformation. In this area, we must unite our strengths and support the creation of a fairer and more just world by moving our activities to the highest level in the region and the world. Since this is the Turkic world's century, we must strengthen our relations."

Ramin Huseynov, head of the Turkish Bureau of Ictimai Television, represented Azerbaijan in the 'Turkic world new generation media activities' panel.

Sevil Nuriyeva, the Turkish Star newspaper columnist, also participated in the event. The event will last two days.
