Shusha will very soon become Azerbaijan’s pearl, which is quite consistent with the declaration of the city as the cultural capital of the country, Russian historian and political scientist, professor, program director of the Valdai Discussion Club Oleg Barabanov told Report.
“Shusha has a very bright and good future, life is reviving very quickly in the city,” he said.
According to Barabanov, it was his first visit to Shusha, a beautiful city where antiquity and large layers of culture are felt.
“Unfortunately, there have been a lot of destruction over the past 30 years, but huge construction is underway, a wonderful road has been built, infrastructure is developing,” the political scientist noted.
The expert believes that the initiative of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to turn the city into the cultural capital of the country is being implemented very actively.
“The efforts that the country’s leadership is putting to restore the territories will make it possible to bring Shusha and other liberated cities back to life soon,” Barabanov said.
