Peacekeepers close six observation and 15 temporary posts in Karabakh

Russian peacekeepers have closed six observation and 15 temporary posts in Karabakh since September 19, Report informs citing the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"In connection with the disarmament and dissolution of illegal armed groups in the region, six observation posts and 15 temporary observation posts of Russian peacekeepers have been closed since September 19, 2023," the statement says.

"No ceasefire violations have been recorded in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent," the ministry also noted.

The Russian peacekeeping contingent (RMC) was deployed in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan in accordance with paragraph 3 of the "Statement of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the President of the Russian Federation" dated November 10, 2020.
