Karabakh's post-war renaissance impresses US traveler

During a recent journey to Karabakh, an American traveler, Diane Pechenick, witnessed not only the devastating aftermath of the conflict but also the impressive speed of ongoing reconstruction efforts.

"This is my second visit to Azerbaijan and my first to Karabakh. It's a beautiful place, and I would definitely come back," she told Report.

Pechenick marveled at the rapid pace of rebuilding in the liberated territories. "Although the restoration work continues, it seems to me that you have truly achieved great success in such a short period," she remarked.

Speaking about the lingering danger of landmines in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, she said this issue remains a major concern. "It's a tragic situation, and the demining process could take decades," Pechenick noted.
