During the second Karabakh war, Armenia continued its terrorist acts against the innocent civilian population, fragrantly violating the norms and principles of international law, Khalid Taimur Akram, the Executive Director of the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, said commenting on the second anniversary of the rocket attacks on Ganja.

"Today marks two years since the attacks of the Armenian armed forces on the center of Ganja, the second largest city in Azerbaijan with ancient history. Armenia used an operational-tactical ballistic missile, killing 26 civilians, including women and children," the expert said.

Taimur Akram also noted that Yerevan should be held accountable for its provocations, attacks and violation of the principles of international law: "I believe that the international community, together with regional stakeholders, should put pressure on Armenia. The leadership of Yerevan should follow all the agreements reached and refuse from fomenting conflicts in the region."

During the Second Karabakh War, the Armenian Armed Forces shelled the city of Ganja with rockets and heavy artillery a total of five times - on October 4, 5, 8, 11, 17 of 2020. As a result of these attacks, 26 people were killed, 175 were injured, and serious damage was caused to civilian infrastructure and vehicles.

A total of 93 civilians were killed, including 12 children and 27 women, 454 civilians were injured, a total of 12,292 residential and non-residential buildings, 288 vehicles were damaged, 1,018 farms as a result of the military aggression of Armenia during the Second Karabakh War.
