Azerbaijan observed a minute of silence at 12:00 (GMT+4) to honor the memory of martyrs of the Patriotic War, Report informs.
Azerbaijan annually marks September 27 as the Remembrance Day under the order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev dated December 2, 2020, as a sign of deep respect for Azerbaijani soldiers and officers, all martyrs who heroically fought in the Patriotic War and who sacrificed their lives in the name of the territorial integrity of the country.
In the evening, several buildings, including the Heydar Aliyev Center and Flame Towers, will be illuminated in the colors of the Azerbaijani flag. Regional Development Public Association of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation will hold commemorative events.
In connection with Remembrance Day, the central and local structures of the Executive Power will organize several events throughout Azerbaijan, as well as commemorative events abroad.
