ANAMA: Mines continue to claim lives

"Even though the war is over, the secret enemies buried under the ground - mines - are still killing," Ramil Azizov, Operation Manager of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), said at an event organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross.

According to him, today, international organizations and civil society organizations have come together around a single platform with the dream of a "Landmine Free 2025".

Azizov called on the relevant agencies implementing mine risk measures in Azerbaijan and those involved in the socio-economic integration of mine victims to come together on a single platform.

The participants of the event took part in discussions on the topic of humanitarian demining. They exchanged views on meeting the needs of mine victims, providing them with jobs, treatment at home and abroad, as well as various rehabilitation programs for the families of those killed in the mine explosion.
