The World Cities Report 2026, focusing on the global housing crisis and sustainable urban development, has been presented at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Report informs.
The report, titled "The Global Housing Crisis: Pathways to Action," highlights key challenges related to global urbanization, housing provision, the impact of climate change on cities, and sustainable urban development.
The report views decent housing not simply as a means of shelter, but as a fundamental pillar of sustainable urban development and human well-being.
The report also emphasizes the importance of safe, affordable, and accessible housing for reducing poverty, improving quality of life, and transforming informal settlements and slums.
