Ufuk Yalcin: Zangazur Corridor is not an alternative to Baku-Tbilisi-Kars rail line

The Zangazur Corridor is not an alternative to the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway, Ufuk Yalcın, Director General of the TCDD Transport, a government-owned railway company of Türkiye, said in his statement within the framework of the Multimodal Transport and Logistics Forum of the Organization of Turkic States held in Istanbul, Report informs.

He noted that Türkiye does not currently have a strategy regarding the Zangazur Corridor: "Currently, there are some issues regarding the Zangazur Corridor. However, after some issues are resolved, we will have direct access to Azerbaijan through this corridor."

Yalcin said that the BTK rail line is being completely renewed: "The reason why the railway line is currently closed is related to this renewal. I think that we will be able to send two trains a day after BTK is put back into operation no later than two months later.”
