Taleh Ziyadov: International cooperation needed to make Middle Corridor green

In order to divert the Caspian region from negative effects, it is necessary to work together with the Caspian littoral and nearby states, Baku International Sea Trade Port General Director Taleh Ziyadov said at the opening ceremony of the First Caspian Blue Horizons event held at ADA University, Report informs.

“Port of Baku is on the coast of the Caspian Sea. You also observed the events in the Suez Canal. This greatly affected trade between East and West and highlighted the potential of the Caspian Sea. For this reason, cooperation with other countries is important to ensure the Middle Corridor becomes a sustainable and green corridor. When talking about the concept of green, it should be noted that the majority of companies in Azerbaijan started this initiative earlier. Thanks to the European Union, we launched this initiative in 2016. One of the goals of this initiative is to ensure that every container from China to Europe goes through a green corridor,” Ziyadov said.
