Women make up the majority of people facing housing problems worldwide.
Report informs that Simon Springett, UN Resident Coordinator for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, said this at WUF13 in Baku.
According to him, the number of female-headed households is quite high.
"The UN can support the development of gender statistics, investment attraction, security and the consideration of climate risks. In this framework, policy should be developed with modern realities in mind. The UN can provide support in improving information systems, as well as ensuring safety in residential areas," he said.
