Russia to extend ban on entry of trucks from EU until July 2023

The Russian government is going to extend the ban on the entry of trucks from the European Union (EU) for six months, that is, until June 30, 2023, a source familiar with the results of the meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov told RBC, according to Report.

A source in the Russian Ministry of Transport confirmed the information.

The authorities set the ban at the end of September until December 31, 2022. It followed the decree of President Vladimir Putin on the possibility of imposing restrictions on international trucking of goods through Russia by vehicles owned by companies from "unfriendly countries." The move comes as a response to EU's April 8 decision to ban trucks registered in the Russian Federation from entering its territory.

The Ministry of Transport then proposed to extend this restriction in 2023, and Belousov supported it, the White House press service said on December 5, without disclosing the exact timing.
