Russia's Dagestan is negotiating the resumption of regular flights with Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Government of Dagestan Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov told RIA Novosti, according to Report.
"Negotiations are underway on the possibility of resuming regular flights with Azerbaijan. The possibility of introducing direct flights with Georgia and Iran is being worked out," Abdulmuslimov said.
Direct flights between Azerbaijan and Dagestan were suspended at the end of 2024 after the Embraer 190 aircraft of the Azerbaijani airline AZAL, flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on December 25.
According to preliminary data, the plane crashed as a result of physical and technical external impact in the airspace of the Russian Federation over Grozny.
