Port of Baku head calls for closer coordination within Middle Corridor

One of the main issues related to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) is creating closer coordination between investors and countries along the corridor, Taleh Ziyadov, Director-General of Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC, stated at the 5th Caspian Business Forum held in New York City.

The event was organized by the Caspian Policy Center and the embassies of the Caspian littoral countries.

"The importance of the region is increasing, but competition is also expected to increase," Zeyidov noted.

The port director touched upon the importance of applying green corridor principles for the sustainability of the Middle Corridor and noted that the Baku Port, being the region's first green port, has made great progress in this area.

Efgan Nifti, President of the Caspian Policy Center, emphasized the growing importance of transport connections in the region through projects like the Middle Corridor, as well as the Caspian region's ability to supply the world with energy through hydrocarbon and renewable energy sources.

During the forum, participants exchanged views on various panel sessions about energy production in the Caspian region, its transportation, the important role this area plays in international logistics and other issues.
