Passenger traffic increases by 65% in Azerbaijan

In January 2022, freight and passenger traffic in Azerbaijan increased by 3.3% and 64.8%, respectively, compared to the same month last year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
Last month, businesses operating in the relevant sector transported 16 million tons of cargo. According to the committee, 2.8% of the cargo was transported by sea, 7.7% by rail, 0.4% by air, 53.9% by road and 35.2% by pipelines.
In addition, carriers served 113.2 million passengers last month: 86.5% of passengers were transported by road, 13.1% by subway, and the rest by other modes of transport.
