Matthew Bryza: Opening of Zangazur corridor won't have negative impact on Georgia's transit business

The opening of the Zangazur corridor will not have a negative impact on Georgia's transit business, international expert, board member of the Jamestown Foundation, and former US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Matthew Bryza, told Report at the Caspian Week Forum 2023 held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Georgia is worried that the Zangazur corridor will have a negative impact on their transit business, he said stressing that this is not true.

With the opening of the Zangazur corridor, most of the logistics routes will pass through the South Caucasus, which is convenient for everyone, he said.

Bryza noted that the Zangazur corridor will increase the transit potential of the main players of the region.

The Zangazur corridor will influence on the development of Nakhchivan, along with opportunities for Azerbaijan and Türkiye, he said.
