Kazakh president emphasizes synergy between Belt and Road and Middle Corridor

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has called for the creation of a partnership network of strategic seaports and logistics centers within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which aims to build future synergy among trans-Eurasian corridors, Report informs via Kazinform.

Speaking at the SCO summit in Astana today, Tokayev emphasized, "We attach great importance to the future synergy between China's Belt and Road mega-project and trans-Eurasian corridors, including the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), North-South, and Central Asia-South Asia vectors."

Tokayev highlighted that enhancing transport connections is one of the SCO's priority areas.

"The third area of cooperation within the SCO framework is strengthening transport links by creating efficient corridors and reliable supply chains," he stated.

The Kazakh president also noted the expansion of trade and economic ties among the priority areas of cooperation.
