Kalbajar-Lachin highway to be ready for operation in 2 years

The construction of the 75.8-kilometer Kalbajar-Lachin highway and the related tunnels on it will be completed by early 2026, Akif Aygen, deputy chairman of the board of the Turkish company Proyapi, which carries out construction work in the liberated territories, told Report.

The highway, which connects Kalbajar and Lachin regions, has 2, 3 and 4 lanes and is being built according to the first and second technical grades.

Kalbajar-Lachin highway starts from Gamishli village of Kalbajar district and passes through the territory of Lachin district, which was liberated from occupation. The new road will provide easy access to many residential areas of these regions, as well as to the center of the region and the Lachin International Airport under construction.
