Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) has discussed cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) regarding the expansion of the wagon fleet and the implementation of new financing methods, Report informs.
According to ADY, the discussions were held during a meeting between ADY's Deputy Chairman Arif Aghayev and IFC's Regional Infrastructure and Energy Manager for Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, Camila Rodriguez, along with other officials.
Considering IFC's support for several large projects in railway infrastructure development, partnership opportunities in this direction were also reviewed.
Aghayev spoke about the work done by ADY in recent years to expand and modernize its wagon fleet, including the purchase of modern electric trains and locomotives, and the implementation of projects carried out using internal resources.
