Cities of the future must not only be smart, but also inclusive, accessible, and people-centered, Farid Karimov, dean of the Faculty of Design at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, said at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
According to him, modern approaches to urban development are fundamentally different from previous practices.
"Today, cities are no longer just buildings and streets. The very concept of the city is perceived in a completely different way. The city has become a space where human rights, social equality, and environmental responsibility are expressed. Furthermore, it is about inclusivity-economic efficiency, social integration, and accessibility," noted Farid Karimov.
